Doing the Right Thing

Sometimes doing The Right Thing requires putting one’s own self-interests at risk – whether it’s your job, your friendships, or something else that’s important to you. Sometimes, you give up something important because the alternative is just not something you can contemplate.

Today, we have a tear-jerker of a story. Assuming the story is true, a Southwest Airlines pilot did something that could have cost him his job had his employers decided that the bottom line was more important than doing The Right Thing. That they have instead voiced their support for his decision warms the heart.

Rather than mangle the story with a summary or excerpts, I’m simply linking to it.

Get tissues. Go. Read.
