Steve Jobs: Flash a ‘closed system’ that falls short

The tit-for-tat between Apple and Adobe over Flash support for the iPhone and iPod took another turn Thursday, with Steve Jobs calling out Flash as unreliable, “100% proprietary,” a battery hog, and ultimately a “closed system” that “falls short.”

Because Apple is such an open platform. I mean, they don’t restrict the computers you can install OSX on, or the apps you can put on the iPhone, or anything like that. Flash, on the other hand, why you can only run that on Adobe approved platforms, and you can’t put a Flash ‘app’ out without Adobe’s approval, and they’ll pull any apps that people have paid for just because they don’t like the competition. Flash is totally closed!

Sheesh!
