More damning evidence against Sheriff Hunt

The audio recording of his call to the Salem PD has been released.

He never indicated any urgency or gave any hint whatsoever that there was an emergency situation developing. He simply asked for a supervisor to call him. This directly contradicts his previous statement that “I thought I could get the fastest response by making personal contact.” If you want “the fastest response,” you at least tell the person taking the message that it’s urgent.

His response is looking worse and worse every time more evidence comes out.

Do we even know why he was targeting her, other than being the ex-wife? I mean we’re either talking psychotic break or targeted murder… I’m sold on the latter.

  2. Specifically? Only he knows for sure. It looks like there was a long-running custody issue after the divorce, but the trigger appears to have been text messages she sent to his current wife claiming that she still had an “ongoing relationship” with him.

This guy was not a shining example of a LEO in the first place, and should have been fired years ago – but it looks like the Sheriff covered for him the last time he got in trouble. Who knows what else he’s done that was successfully covered up?

I’m an LEO in GA myself, and I’m sure this is going to go a long way towards us winning more points with the public… not. They’ll likely be calling for LEO’s to give up their patrol rifles because obviously this one case means we can’t be trusted with anything more than a .22, sad day for the public trust indeed.
